Dear Scouts and Scout Families,

Our troop's second ski trip this winter is scheduled for the weekend starting Friday, March 5, 2004. The basic information is pretty much like last time:  We will meet at the Konko Church at 6:30 pm on Friday evening and drive up to Tahoe.   We plan to ski all day Saturday, and return on Sunday, March 7 (arriving back in SF at approximately 1 pm). The Troop will pay $20 per Scout, while each family will take care of the balance. Scout lift tickets will cost $25 (adults pay $35), ski rentals are $20, and snowboard rentals are $29.  A first-time beginner package is available, consisting of lessons, ski/snowboard rental and ticket for beginner lifts, for $38.

Bottom line:  Counting the troop contribution, a day of skiing, ticket + rental, will cost a scout $25.  A day of snowboarding will cost $34.  Adults pay an extra $10.

Once again this year our troop is exceptionally fortunate in having the use of the Fukuda Family cabin. The Fukudas generously let us use their cabin free of charge.  The very least we can do in return is to follow the Fukuda family rules, to take care of the place, and to leave the cabin cleaner than when we arrived.

Everyone will be contacted by phone or e-mail to confirm participation.   At the troop meetings we are distributing to each scout a

1.     Troop 58 permission slip

2.     Homewood Resort medical release form

3.     release form for equipment rentals

which need to be signed by parents.  The forms can also be obtained directly from me.  All three forms must be signed and given to me, at the very latest, at our meeting at the Konko church on March 5, 6:30 pm.  You may also mail me the signed forms, as long as they reach me by March 5.

Remember:  No signed forms = No skiing!

Please contact either me (415 775-5924) or Carl Iiyama (415 752-2603) with any questions.
